This entry level hands-on workshop is designed to explain the basic electronic knowledge needed to wire an access control system. During the three-hour session, participants will have a combination of lecture and hands-on learning experiences. Many subjects are covered, including:
• Metering for current
• Fail safe lock wiring
• Power supply trouble shooting
Learning Outcomes:
1. Determine methods to operate products used by SSI’s, such as mag locks, electric strikes, and power supplies.
2. Review proper use of electrical meters.
3. Create wiring diagrams, operational narratives, and riser diagrams.
4. Review and discuss codes affecting access control products installation.
