Fundamentals and hands on configuration and exercising of the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP)

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) is an access control communications standard developed by SIA to improve interoperability among access control and security products. With the protocol now in wide use by many top product developers, including Cypress Technologies, HID Global, LenelS2, Mercury and WaveLynx, knowledge of how to design, specify and configure OSDP systems is becoming vital for security systems integrators, government security teams, corporate security practitioners and specifying consultants. In this condensed version of the full-day training, you’ll learn how to design, configure and deploy modern, interoperable, OSDP-compliant access control solutions.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Increase understanding of OSDP as a necessary alternative to the use of Wiegand protocol.
2. Increase understanding of the OSDP command set and conformance requirements for readers and controllers.
3. Increase understanding of the value in OSDP including, design consistency, easier component integration, reduced maintenance, increased security, healthier vendor supply chain through standards based solution.
